Our role was to support Hospice UK with the organisation and management of their first hybrid national conference which took place in Liverpool. With COVID isolation rules and restrictions changing all the time, there was a layer of uncertainty so it was important to be prepared. With the majority of attendees still attending the live event, one theme that was resounding amongst delegates over the three days was their gratitude for putting the conference together and the real sense of need and benefit of all being back together learning having not been able to in 2020.
One of our key responsibilities was to manage the online registration process for both the live and virtual element of the event. We processed over 700 live attendees and handled the 50+ attendees who joined virtually. The programme involved a mix of over 100 plenary and parallel speakers with the added complexity of some joining remotely. Our comprehensive and accurate speaker management processes ensured a streamlined transition of speakers.
Delegates were able to submit their papers with ease through our user-friendly abstract management system. We processed over 300 abstracts on Hospice UK’s behalf which were then peer reviewed and scored through our online portal by industry professionals. The end result being 250 abstracts displayed as posters within the exhibition or as part of the sessions in an oral format.
The exhibition was well received with over forty companies taking the opportunity to exhibit. As well as the main conference and exhibition, a drinks reception also took place on the second evening offering invaluable networking opportunities for exhibitors and delegates alike.
