Background
The Association for Geographic Information is a diverse, passionate membership organisation delivering the needs of their members working in the GI and Geospatial world.
The Brief
To provide:
- a full Event Management service to support the organising team with the delivery of their flagship live event
- on-line registrations and payment facilities for over 260 delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors
- a high level of service to support the sponsors and exhibitors, ensuring all requirements were met
- venue liaison for AV and catering requirements
- on-site support
The Solution
Compleat work with the AGI on both their Association Management and Event Management so already enjoy a good relationship with Council and the membership.
With a knowledge and understanding of their needs the decision was made to hold the conference at the Royal Geographic Society with IBG, London. This venue provided a real link with the work of the Association. With a programme theme ‘Sustainability in a Changing World’ we worked with the planning team to carefully consider catering options and materials used and wherever possible implement ways to reduce waste. A strong programme and marketing ensured good attendance and continuous liaison with the venue and all stakeholders allowed the team to bring every aspect of the brief to fruition.
The Result
Meticulous planning provided an environment perfect for learning and networking. Careful pricing kept the conference accessible to all levels of membership and the programme was packed with first class speakers from government and commerce. Feedback described the event as excellent, buzzing, refreshing, filled with energy and awesome.
